ANNUAL RAM SALE

 Farrer aims to sell  50 -55 rams to the industry each year on the last day of term 3 of the school calendar (last week in September) under the Helmsman buying system.

 Ram start at $500 and in the past reached $8000 twice (2011) with the majority in the $600 - $1000 price category in previous years. Which Farrer considers to be excellent value for money as the vast majority are well above the White Suffolk breed average on the Lamb 2020 index.

 The following conditions apply to selected rams sold by Farrer Memorial Agricultural High School.

Retention of 100% Semen Marketing Rights

 1. Farrer Memorial Agricultural High School retains 100% of the semen marketing rights on indicated rams in the Sale Catalogue. Farrer Agricultural High School retains the opportunity to send the ram to a registered Semen Centre at a mutually agreed time. The costs associated with the semen collection will be at the expense of Farrer Memorial Agricultural High School and at the purchaser’s convenience.

 2. The buyer shall not at any stage market semen from the ram.

   3. The initial purchaser of the ram from Farrer Memorial Agricultural High School has the exclusive rights to collect semen for the restricted use in the initial purchaser’s stud only. If a ram is purchased in syndicate then all partners must be nominated at the point of sale.

 4. The buyer shall not sell or assign any interest in the purchased ram without the new party entering into a Deed of Covenant with Farrer Memorial Agricultural High School, binding the purchaser to Farrer Memorial Agricultural High School in the manner stated in conditions one and two.
