INDUSTRY

Farrer has an arrangement with the AA Co to provide work experience in the northern cattle industry. Farrer is the only school in NSW accredited to offer a Certificate III Beef course and students studying this course can use this opportunity to develop their industry skills. Farrer has a strong and long standing industry link with this company and for the past 10 years have been placing students as part of their work placement requirement which counts towards their HSC. Often this exposure leads to the offer of traineeships or full time employment with the AA Co after leaving school.

The Angus Pastoral Company offers scholarships to Year 12 students studying Certificate III Beef or Agriculture at Farrer. The students are required to fulfill work experience with this company during vacations and commit to 12 months full time employment after leaving school. This industry link provides opportunities for students interested in a career with a progressive, privately owned, vertically integrated company. It also provides a great alternative 'gap' year for senior students to consider. There are currently two past students employed with this company and three students on scholarship.
